Description:

surplus lines insurance--insurance that covers “hard-to-place” risks
(e.g. aviation, product liability, allied health/medical liability, life
science, directors and officers professional liability) that are not
written by the standard insurance markets. The program is designed to
provide Interns with a “hands on” experience and a review of all aspects
of the surplus lines insurance business
Background:
NAPSLO
is a trade association founded in 1975 to represent the surplus lines industry
and the wholesale insurance marketing system. Acting as a source of
information, NAPSLO spends a great deal of time identifying and
explaining the vital role surplus lines plays in the insurance industry
and tracking state and federal regulations. NAPSLO also provides networking and
educational programs for its members and scholarship and internship
programs for qualified students interested in careers in the insurance
industry.
Additional:
Selected
interns will have the opportunity to attend the NAPSLO Annual Convention
in the Fall (expenses paid) and one Intern will be selected for an
internship in London
the following summer. Many Interns find positions in the surplus lines
industry due to their internship experience and networking opportunities.
